Healthcare Professionals Share Thoughts on COVID-19

At theMiddle/High SchoolCommunity SeminaronWednesday, May 6, 2020, students connected witha panel of healthcare professionals over video conference. Three panelists (including one KLS parent)explored the seminar topic, "Thoughts on COVID-19 and Pandemics, Past and Present," by sharing how the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting different aspects of the healthcare industry.

Middle School Humanities SpecialistRenee Schereralso shared documents and images fromthe 1918 flu pandemic,illustrating the ways society responded to a pandemic in the past. After sharing each of their perspectives and helpful tips for self-care duringa pandemic, panelists answeredquestions submitted by students about COVID-19.

Students learned more about the day-to-day challenges of being a healthcare professionalduring a pandemic, how COVID-19testing works, and how the healthcare industry is preparing for the aftermath of COVID-19.
