KLS Junior Vidit Kwatra Makes Professional Debut in Minor League Cricket
Khan Lab School junior Vidit Kwatra reached a new milestone this year, making his professional debut with the Silicon Valley Strikers in a Minor League Cricket match against the San Ramon Grizzlies.
For Vidit, the debut marked a new chapter in a journey eight years in the making.
“It was fun,” Vidit shared. “Nerves were there at first, but then I would just play normally and enjoy my game!”
Last year, Vidit earned recognition at USA Cricket’s Bay Area awards, captained his U17 team to a championship, and was a member of the U19 team that also won a championship at the same tournament. His schedule typically includes three practices a week and one or two weekend games.
At KLS, Vidit also enjoys studying physics and math and being part of a close school community. His family, who has been at KLS since 2018, has seen how the school makes room for his goals.
“Vidit is fortunate to be here to pursue both his academic and athletic interests,” said his father, Vivek Kwatra. “The school has always been flexible, allowing him the time he needs to travel for cricket practice or tournaments, and fully encouraging him to pursue it.”
Vidit’s journey reflects our mission: We are a community of learners empowering every student to navigate their own path. There is no single path a KLS student is expected to follow. We encourage students to discover what matters to them and take ownership of meaningful goals, supported by a community that celebrates their growth.
We’re proud of Vidit’s dedication and leadership, and delighted to celebrate this milestone with him. Congratulations, Vidit! We’re cheering you on!
