Capstone Exhibition Showcases Impressive Student Projects
IL5 Students Present at Capstone Exhibition
On June 4, 2020, IL5 students presented their work at the annual Capstone Exhibition. The 15 students worked either alone or in pairs for their projects. The purpose of the capstone program is to provide those finishing Middle School an opportunity to apply their passions to a project of their own design. True to the school's mission, it was up to the students to navigate their own path in this assignment. Each of our students met the challenge with a panel (complete with one advisor, sponsor, and peer mentor) as well as in community with one another during meetings twice a week. While topics ranged, commonalities included an interest in the environment, making sense of global events, and entrepreneurship. Overall, each project seeks to help others and demonstrates one of the strengths of our community of learners.
Each of the 10 projects was introduced by the students involved with the project before moving the audience into various rooms on video conference for more detailed presentations.
